–Nigerian trio in 400m men and women semi-finals

Nigeria's Ibrahim Blessing Ibukun picked the silver medal in the triple jump event as the track and field event of the 11th All Africa Games gets underway Sunday in Brazaville.
Ibrahim, the reigning Nigeria champion's opening jump of 13.52m was enough to secure the silver. The jump had put Ibrahim temporarily in-charge of the event until Cameroun's Joelle S Mbumi Nkuindjin first supplanted her with her opening jump of 13.54 before putting daylight between her and the reast of the 10 competitors with a final round jump of 13.75m.
In the men's version,Tosin Oke will attempt to become the second man in Games history to retain a triple jump title when he takes to the pit on Monday.
Oke who only arrived Brazzaville less than 24 hours before the event has been scheduled to start will contend with South Africa's Godfrey Khotso Mokoena and compatriot,Olumide Olamigoke for the gold medal.
Meanwhile Nigerian trio of Patience Okon George,Tosin Adeloye and Margaret Etim have qualified for the women's 400m scheduled for Monday,September 14,2015.
Okon George,semi-finalist at the 15th IAAF World Championships in Beijing ran 52.87 seconds to win heat three of the first round while the duo of Adeloye (51.86) and Etim (53.18) also qualified for the semi-finals coming second in their respective first round heats.
Both Okon George and Etim will run in the first semi-final with the latter running from lane six while the former will run from lane 5.Adeloye will run from lane four in the second semi-final.
The men's quartermile trio of Nathaniel Sa Oghenewegba (46.24),Orukpe Erayokan who surprised with a personal season's best of 45.84 seconds national lead and Robert Simmonson also made it to Monday's semi-finals.While both Oghenewegba and Erayokan came second in their respective events,Simmonson (46.60) placed fourth in the fourth and final heat of the first round to also book a place in the semi-final.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria
