Having fired blanks in West Bromwich Albion’s 2-3 home loss to visiting Leicester City last week at the Hawthorns, the duo of Nigerian internationals Brown Ideye and Victor Anichebe will be looking to rediscover their scoring touch as they embark on the road trip to Crystal Palace today. Last weekend loss was all the more frustrating considering that the Baggies not only failed to halt their recent lossing streak in front of their home fans, but also lost to a relegation threatened side who are stuck at the bottom of the EPL table.
West Brom has lost four of their last 5 games which has pegged in the 14th position on the league table with 33 points after 32 matches and the Baggies will be desperate to halt the downward spiral by at the least, avoiding defeat against a better-placed Palace side who are currently 11th on the log with 42 points. Palace’s recent good form is also butressed in that only last weekend, they hammered host Sunderland 4-1 to increase their wins to four in their last 5 matches.
Coach Tony Pulis will be hoping Ideye, Anichebe and club hotshot, Saido Berahino will be able to rediscover their scoring touches to possibly return West Brom to winning ways but there is no gainsaying that the struggling Baggies must also be wary of their host attacking firepower which interestingly include another Nigerian internationa, Shola Ameobi who recently staged a return to the EPL following a brief sojourn in the Turkish league with Gaziantep BB.
