Ighalo Backs Nigeria U-23s To Beat Congo

By Johnny Edward:

Super Eagles and Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, has sent his best wishes to the national U-23 team who face Congo in Sunday’s CAF U-23 Championship qualifier in Port Harcourt.

Completesportsnigeria.com reports that Ighalo, who once played for the Olympic team, is hoping coach Samson Siasia begins his quest on a bright note.

“Wishing the Nigeria U23 a successful outing today and all the best to my coach Siasia,” Ighalo tweeted.

Ighalo played for the U-23s under coach Austin Eguavoen in 2011, when the team failed to qualify for both the All Africa Games and the Olympics.

The CAF U-23 Championship scheduled for Senegal in December will serve as the qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic football event.
