Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo scored his sixth goal in pre-season as Aaron Samuel also scored on Sunday.
However, only one of the two ended up on the winning team, with Ighalo’s Watford beating Paderbon 2-0 in a friendly, while Samuel’s Guangzhou R&F losing 4-2 at home to Shandong Luneng in a Chinese Super League match.
Ighalo continued his impressive pre-season scoring run in Germany when he bagged Watford’s second goal – and his sixth in four pre-season games – in the 61st minute in the friendly win over the lower league German side. His strike partner Matej Vydra got the first goal after jist 12 minutes.
In China, Samuel scored from the penalty spot in the 76th minute to reduce the deficit to 3-2, but the visitors added another goal late on to claim an away win.
