One cap Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo and his Watford teammates will continue their push for promotion to the English Premier League today as they play host to Birmingham City in the tough Coca-Cola Championship.
Ighalo was on target in his sides 3-1 away win against Nottingham forest on Wednesday to ensure Watford remain third on the league table with 82 points – just a point behind leaders Bournemoth AFC who are on 83 points. Watford must however be wary of Birmingham City and not get complacent against a side who are 14th on the log with 54 points.
Ighalo currently has 20 goals to his credit for Watford and would be looking to further increase his tally in today’s tie to possibly go past Troy Deeney who also has 20 goals to his credit.
The keenly contested Championship is made up of 24 teams with the first and second team at the end of the season guaranteed of an automatic promotion to the elite division while the remaining four teams will be involved in the promotion play-off to pick the third promotion ticket.
