Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has expressed shock that he has scored nine Premier League goals so far this season.
Ighalo scored Watford's winner in their 2-0 home win against Norwich City.
Speaking with watfordobserver, Ighalo said he is delighted with his performance for the Hornets.
“I don’t want to stop,” Ighalo said. “I will keep on working hard and keep on scoring goals.
“I never imagined that I’d score so many before the start of the season but the goals have given me belief.
“I have been happy with my work rate and the effort I have put into the games. The goals have come from that.”
Ighalo stated that he was frustrated that he couldn't get on the score sheet in the first half against Norwich 9n Saturday.
“You can’t imagine how frustrated I was,” Ighalo explained. “The goal in the first half wasn’t offside because when Allan (Nyom) headed the ball forward I was behind Bassong.
“Then in the second half Bassong fouled me in the area and the referee didn’t give anything. But I was very happy the goal finally came.
“The most important thing was the team performance was great and the fans were always behind us.”
He hailed his partnership with Troy Deeney, expressing confidence that their partnership can help sustain Watford's Premier League status.
“We played together and did great in the Championship, he scored 21 goals and I scored 20,” Ighalo said.
“But we have been working hard together and have been causing defenders problems. It is nice what people are saying but we will carry on working hard.
“If we can keep fit we can push for the top ten this season and keep Watford in the Premier League.”
He also disclosed that he is oblivious of any January bid for him.
“I don’t know (a January bid). I have a five year contract here and I just want to keep doing well and keep on scoring goals. I will see what happens in January or in the summer.”
