Nigerian strikers Odion Ighalo, Anthony Ujah, and Chuba Akpom were all over the moon after starting their season on a scoring note on Saturday.
All three scored as their teams got impressive results in England and Germany.
Ighalo scored his first English Premier League goal on Saturday after coming off the bench for his EPL debut in Watford’s 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.
“I’m happy to have scored but the result wasn’t what I hoped for,” Ighalo told completesportsnigeria.com.
“The equaliser was painful but we will learn from it.”
Ujah tweeted his delight after scoring his first official goal for Werder Bremen in their 2-0 win against Wurzburger Kickers in the first round of the DFB Pokal.
After 90 minutes of football with no goal from either side, Ujah finally broke the deadlock when he scored in the 102nd minute of extra-time to put Bremen one goal ahead.
He wrote: “Great start to the season and first official goal for Werder Bremen, thanks good God. Bundesliga can start.”
Bremen will host Schalke 04 in their first game of the new Bundesliga season.
Akpom, who is at Hull on loan from Arsenal, was on target in the 2-0 Championship over Huddersfield for his first official Hull goal.
The young striker wrote on Twitter afterwards: “Solid 2-0 win today. Buzzing to get a goal on my debut. Fans were amazing. Onto the next game. @hullcity #ak.”
