Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo has shared a picture of the building for his proposed orphanage in Lagos, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The former Watford star, 27, who recently joined Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai has often done charity work, regularly sending money home for various projects to help the needy.
He is now about to take his philanthropy to a new level by building an orphanage from scratch and funding it.
“All thanks to God for the work so far,” Ighalo tweeted on Sunday morning and displayed a photograph of the multi-milliona naira one-storey building where he plans to take care of orphans.
The building looks at least 80 per cent completed from the outside, with paintwork appearing to be the only thing left to be done.
“IGHALO ORPHANAGE HOME” is boldly inscribed on the rooftop, while a bust of Ighalo in his trademark goal celebration has been installed on the front of the building.
Ighalo is reported to be earning between £180,000 to £200,000 in China.
