Ighalo’s Strike Gets Goal Of The Season Nomination

Odion Ighalo’s goal against Brentford has been nominated for a prestigious goal of the season award.

The Nigerian international scored twice for Watford as the Hornets fought back from a goal down to deny Mark Warburton’s Brentford a share of the spoil in February.

Ighalo leaped highest to bring his side level at Griffin Park after Brentford had earlier taken the lead courtesy Andre Gray in the 53rd minute.

But it was his stoppage time winner that got the nomination. The 26 year old turned in substitute Matej Vydra’s cross from six yards out. He has scored 17 goals in the Championship so far this term.

The winners will be announced at the club’s awards dinner on Sunday, May 3.
