Enyimba centre-back, Ike ThankGod, has dedicated his match winning goal against Niger Tornadoes in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 15 clash to his new born son, Ike ThankGod Jnr and his wife, Ike Ego, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
ThankGod, who scored Enyimba’s match winner against Kano Pillars at Sani Abacha Stadium in a match day 14 fixture, followed that up with yet another winner against visiting Niger Tornadoes, taking his haul so far to two goals in two games.
“My wife, Ike Ego, put to bed on Saturday, 24 hours before our match against Niger Tornadoes,” the towering defender tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
“She gave birth to my son, Ike ThankGod Jnr and I’m dedicating the goal to him and my wife.”
ThankGod had earlier dedicated his goal against Kano Pillars to his family for standing behind him since he had not been playing for the People’s Elephant after crossing over from state rivals, Abia Warriors, prior to the start of the current season.
He made a scoring debut against the former champions and followed it up with yet another match winning goal against Niger Tornadoes Sunday in Umuahia.
