Nigerian born Scotland international and Watford midfielder, Ikechi Anya, has stated that Odion Ighalo's crucial miss against Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield, was the turning point in the Hornets' 2-0 loss.
After Joe Allen had given Liverpool a first half lead, Ighalo almost drew watford level, only for Mignolet to tip his goal-bound shot over the bar.
Roberto Firmino went on to score the second goal, to secure the win for Liverpool.
According to the Standard.co.uk, Anya expressed disappointment that the Hornets could not cap a wonderful performance with a goal.
"We are just missing that clinical edge that we had at the start of the season," Anya lamented.
"We did enough to score a couple of goals, especially in the first half, and we can look at that with disappointment.
"We could have made it 1-1 when Odion Ighalo turned his man and the keeper made a great save but then we conceded the second and it is difficult to get back into it."
Watford, who currently seats 14th in the league table, will face Norwich at Carrow Road, on Wednesday.
They will round off their season with a home clash against Sunderland on Sunday.
