Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is confident of filling the void left by captain Vincent Enyeama if handed his debut against Tanzania.
Ikeme who has kept only one clean sheet in the Championship for Wolves in four games told Completesportsnigeria.com in Abuja on Wednesday that he is not under any pressure to feature for the Eagles.
“If I get a chance to play, I’m not going to try and be Vincent but I’m ready to do a good job,” Ikeme told completesportsnigeria.com.
“I’d just try and do what I do at club football with the Eagles.
“Pressure is what you bring to yourself and since I’ve been here and I’ve enjoyed every bit of it with the lads here.
“I’m not under pressure but glad to be here.”
On what he will bring to the Eagles as a late bloomer at 29, Ikeme promised his utmost best as the team jets out to Tanzania.
On the growing number Nigerians at Wolves, Ikeme said: “I spoke to Bright and told him he’s next and I hope to share my experiences with them when I get back Molineaux.”
Ikeme has made three starts in the Championship, conceding four goals.
