Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is sad to see Sunday Oliseh quit his post as head coach of the side even as he thanked the former Ajax midfielder for giving him the opportunity to play at the international level.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper made his debut for the Super Eagles in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in September last year, which incidentally was Oliseh's first official game in charge of the side.
Ikeme has remained Nigeria's first choice goalkeeper ever since, following Vincent Enyeama's retirement.
Oliseh resigned from his post on Thursday citing violations of his contract, unpaid wages and lack of support as reason behind his action.
And Ikeme was disappointed to see the former Nigeria captain leave after only eight months.
"Sad to see Sunday Oliseh resign. I would like to thank him for all his efforts and giving me the opportunity to represent the Super Eagles," Ikeme wrote on his Twitter handle.
