Super Eagles keeper Carl Ikeme was in goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers who beat Brighton Hove Albion 1-0 away in Friday’s championship game.
Ikeme has been keeping goal for Wolves regularly since Arsenal loanee Emiliano Martinez got injured and the Nigerian was in spectacular form on New Year’s Day, adding to hos several clean sheets.
He made several key saves in the game, including a magnificent stop from a close range header with only seconds left in the match.
The only goal of the clash was an own goal by Brighton’s Connor Goldson on 32 minutes.
Also on parade for Wolverhampton was Dominic Iorfa junior, who featured for 90 minutes.
In another championship fixture, Hull City, with Moses Odubajo in action, pipped Queens Park Rangers 2-1 at Loftus Road.
Benched for the encounter was Sone Aluko while Chuba Akpom was not in the squad.
Abel Hernandez opened the scoring for Hull in the 61st minute.
With four minutes remaining, Sebastian Polter equalized for QPR. But on the dot of 90 minutes, Adama Diomande sealed the win for Hull.
