English Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers are uncertain Nigeria international goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, will be available for Saturday’s clash against Derby County, prompting further speculations he could miss his country’s World Cup qualifying fixture against Algeria, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ikeme was taken off during Wolves 1-1 away draw against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday due to injury and was replaced by Andy Lonergan.
He is said to have a sore hip and has also strained his oblique muscle.
Wolves interim boss Rod Edwards described him as a doubt for the Derby clash.
“We are going to try and reduce the inflammation. He (Ikeme) is touch and go and we will know more in a few days,” Edwards told Expressandstar.com.
Ikeme has been Super Eagles’ first choice goalkeeper since the retirement of Vincent Enyeama.
He is among the list of players invited by Gernot Rohr for the game against Algeria on November 12 in Uyo.
