Ikeme Suffers Defeat; Echiejile, Simon Secure Draws

Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme was in action for Wolverhampton Wanderers who lost 2-1 away to Middlesbrough in the English Champoinship on Friday night.

A brace from Gaston Ramirez in the 24th and 57th minute, gave Middlesbrough a 2-0 lead.

With a minute left in regulation time, Ben Gibson pulled a goal back for Wolves which was not enough to prevent the defeat.

Ikeme is one of the 43 players invited by coach Samson Siasia for Nigeria's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt.

In France, Elderson Echiejile featured for Monaco in their 2-2 away draw at Caen.

Echiejile made a 90 minutes appearance for Monaco.

Thomas Lemar gave Monaco the lead on 56 minutes only for Caen to equalise in the 64th minute through Julien Feret from the penalty spot.

Monaco regained the lead after an own goal by Alaeddine Yahia on 69 minutes.

But on the dot of 90 minutes, Caen rescued a point following Christian Kouakou's goal.

And in the Belgian league, Eagles winger Moses Simon was introduced for Thomas Matton with 12 minutes left as hosts Gent and Oud-Heverlee Leuven played a 1-1 draw.

Leandro Trossard gave Oud-Heverlee the lead in the 52nd minute before Mbark Boussoufa restored parity for Gent on 68 minutes.
