The League Management Company have fined Ikorodu United N3.5 and banished the club to the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, following the crowd trouble that marred their Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 30 fixture against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The match was discontinued in the 89th minute after the home supporters threw objects into the pitch following Ajani Ibrahim’s equalising goal for the visitors which put the scoreline at 1-1.
The Oga Boys will play their next three home games in the NPFL at the MKO Abiola Stadium starting with this weekend’s matchday 32 fixture against Niger Tornadoes.
The last two games will however be suspended subject to good conduct for the remainder of the season.
The LMC also ruled that the match will be counted as a completed fixture.
Ikorodu United have until 5pm on Friday to appeal the verdict.
