Egyptian side, Al Ismaily, have decided to give their former Nigerian forward John Utaka a honorary membership of the club.
The Ismaïlia-based team announced that they decided to give their former player the club’s honorary membership recognition for following his contribution to the team in the past.
Ismaily have given their honorary membership to a number of their former players as well as Egyptian international, Mohamed Salah, who announced that he is one of team fans.
Utaka, 33, played for the Egyptian league with Arab Contractors in 1998 before he joined Ismaily in 2000 when he led them to win the Egyptian League and Egypt Cup in 2000.
After leaving Ismaily, Utaka joined Al Sadd of Qatar and later played for a variety of clubs in Europe such as Lens, Portsmouth and Montpellier.
