The 2015 edition of the annual Copa Lagos beach soccer championship came to a fitting end Sunday at the Eko Atlantic beach with defending champions, Ivory Coast retaining the trophy.
The Elephants proved just too much for England after coming from behind in the final period to win 6-4.
The victory came on the backdrop of the English men being reduced to four men in the second period when they were 4-2 in front.
The champions made the most of their numerical advantage in the third period to run out 6-4 winners.
The beach soccer Elephants won the trophy last year after seeing off hosts, Nigeria in a thrilling final.
However it was not all losses for the European nation made famous by their Barclays Premier League as their captain, Aaron Clarke, was voted as the Most Valuable Player, MVP, of the game.
