Nigerian duo Alex Iwobi and Vincent Enyeama were listed in Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) African Team of the Week for the past weekend.
Other players included in the list are reigning Africa Player of the Year and Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Dieumerci Mbokani of Norwich City, Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah and Mohamed Salah of AS Roma.
Iwobi has been in superb form since breaking into Arsenal’s first team this season.
The 19-year-old scored his second Premier League goal for Arsenal in last Saturday’s 4-0 home win against Watford.
Aside from his goal, Iwobi also provided an assist for Alexis Sanchez who opened the scoring for Arsenal.
Iwobi was also impressive in two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for the Super Eagles against Egypt.
Former Super Eagles skipper Enyeama was key for Lille who defeated Nantes 3-0 away in Ligue 1.
Enyeama made a series of saves, notably from two fierce free-kicks early in the game, and dominated his box as Lille secured the three points.
