Arsenal can defeat Barcelona in their Round of 16 second leg tie tonight (Wednesday) and progress to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League despite a 2-0 aggregate deficit from the first leg, although it's an unlikely outcome, on paper, according to John Ola Shittu, the agent of Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The current European champions were expected to gain the advantage at the Emirates two weeks ago and a Lionel Messi double has put the Blaugrana in the driving seat as both sides face-off in the second leg tonight.
Shittu while speaking with Completesportsnigeria.com believes the Gunners can still win the ties over two legs if only they take their chances.
"It is not over in football until it is. Arsenal have a record of winning away fixtures in the Champions League. They did it against Bayern Munich and AC Milan, although the wins were not enough to guarantee them passage due to superior goals scored in the first legs by their opponents," Shittu told Completesportsnigeria.com during an exclusive chat.
Shittu stressed: "I'm not saying Arsenal will definitely win tonight, but it is not impossible. Well, unlikely is the word on whether they can progress if you ask me because Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez cannot do it all by themselves.
"What I feel is that Barcelona will progress if Arsenal come out all blazing and leave spaces behind. But I'm pretty sure Arsene Wenger's team will create some chances. I can't call the result, but we both know that Barca have a better team."
The big game kicks off 8.45pm, Nigerian time, tonight.
