Tunisia-based forward, Junior Ajayi, has arrived at the team's camp in Gambia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The CS Sfaxien striker is the first overseas-based player to arrive at the team's Flourish Resort camp.
Ajayi arrived in Banjul, capital of The Gambia, aboard a Royal Air Maroc flight at about 4am (5am) Nigerian time to the waiting arms of Team Secretary, Sirajo Hassan, who took him to the camp.
It was a surprise package for players and officials of the U-23 Eagles who woke up on Sunday to behold the presence of Ajayi at breakfast, hugging and backslapping each other, welcoming him to the camp.
Ajayi, who netted the goals in Port Harcourt that eventually eliminated Congo Brazzaville and sent the U-23 Eagles through to Senegal was delighted to join his collegues in camp.
"I can't describe how I feel any time I report for national duty. For me, it's an honour to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians, this I have come to do, God willing,'' he told NFF.com.
