Kano Pillars defender Jamiu Alimi has expressed his delight at being named in the Nigerian Professional Football League All-Stars squad by coach Salisu Yusuf, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The NPFL All Stars will play two matches in Spain, including one against La Liga giants Valencia.
Alimi who last featured for Nigeria at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda inclusion in the squad was thankful that Yusuf kept faith in him again since he made his international debut over a year ago under him.
“I am thinking about nothing except putting up a good performance in Spain. I hope to make the NPFL proud as I am very pleased to be going,” he told Competesportsnigeria.com.
“With the way we are training and the team’s chemistry in camp I’m confident that we will get good results from the games lined up for us in Spain.”
Alimi has made six international appearances for Nigeria since making his debut against Burkina Faso.
