Nigeria Professional Football League club Kano Pillars have commisserated with their centre-back Jamiu Alimi following the death of his father, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
According to a statement by media officer of the club, Idris Malikawa, made available to Completesportsnigeria.com, Pillars also pray that Allah accept the soul of the late Alimi.
“The entire Pillars wish to condole with Jamiu Alimi on the passing away of his father,” the club wrote on Monday.
“May Allah accept his soul.
“We also pray for the family to also have the courage to bear the loss of their father.”
The late Alimi passed away in Lagos Monday on morning after a brief illness, according to a text message Jamiu sent to one of Completesportsnigeria.com correspondents.
The former Ukraine-based defender was omitted from Nigeria’s squad for next month’s Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying fixture against Algeria.
