Former Super Eagles skipper Nwankwo Kanu has warned players of the Flying Eagles not to disappoint the country at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
The Flying Eagles, who are in Germany intensifying their preparation for the World Cup, defeated Freiburg U-23s 4-1 in their latest friendly game on Tuesday.
They had earlier beaten Hoffenheim and Nuremburg U-23 sides 5-2 and 5-0 respectively.
Kanu, who was a member of the Mauritius 1993 Flying Eagles squad, expressed confidence in the present crop of players.
He went on to praise head coach of the team Manu Garba and his assistant Nduka Ugbade for a job well done.
The former Arsenal star wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: “Nigeria Flying Eagles are ready for the world. Well done Manu and Nduka, we praying for the team. And make sure you make us proud.”
