Former Super Eagles captain Nwankwo Kanu has heaped plaudits on the Nigerian U-23 national team for booking their ticket to the 2016 Olympics with a 1-0 victory over Senegal on Wednesday.
Senegal ruthless in the group stages were shut-out by Samson Siasia's team and handed their first defeat of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations.
Kanu, who captained Nigeria's Dream Team to a historic gold medal in 1996 in Atlanta, the first by an African side, as usual took to Twitter to hail the team.
"Congrats Siasia and your coaching and also the players. Well done and let's go to Brazil and do our nation proud," Kanu tweeted.
Nigeria will on Saturday face the winners between Algeria and South Africa in the CAF U-23 AFCON final in Dakar.
