Former Nigeria international Nwankwo Kanu has sent a congratulatory message to Kelechi Iheanacho after Manchester City beat Liverpool 3-1 on penalties to win this season's Capital One Cup.
Iheanacho, who won his first piece of silverware as a City player, was an unused substitute in Sunday's final.
After 120 minutes of football saw both teams all square at 1-1, Willy Caballero emerged the hero, stopping three spot kicks.
Reacting to City's win, Kanu advised Iheanacho to keep working hard.
Kanu wrote on his Twitter handle: "Congratulations Ihenacho. I wish you more to come and keep working hard."
Manchester City also won the 2014 League Cup final against Sunderland.
