Katsina United chairman, Aminu Balele Kurfi, is planning to put an investment scheme in place for his players to secure their future after retiring from the game, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Kurfi has rewarded the players handsomely for their efforts in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season.
The football admistrator gave each player N50,000 for securing a point in their away fixture against Lobi Stars last weekend.
He is however further looking to help the players prepare for their future after leaving the sport.
“I am from the finance sector, and I wish to use my expertise to help my players, who have chosen football as their careers,” Kurfi, a
graduate of Economics from the Bayero University Kano told the club's official website.
“Their careers are usually short, so they have to plan for the rainy day against retirement, injury or any other eventuality.
“They also need to provide for their families as most of them are bread winners.
“So, as a result of this, I am discussing with some top banks on an investment plan for the players and I wish to personally guarantee their investments.”
Kurfi is also proud that the Changi Boys who are back in the Nigeria top-flight league after spending 15 -years in the Nigeria National League are able to pay the players salaries and bonuses promptly.
“We are a modest club who believe in being run professionally. Salaries, allowances and bonuses
are prompt because even in the holy books, a worker is entitled to his wages as and when due,” he stated.
