Stephen Keshi has insisted Flying Eagles stars tipped to now play at full international level must prove themselves when they get their chance with the Super Eagles.
Flying Eagles captain Musa Mohammed, Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho, Issac Success from Granada and Taiwo Awoniyi are widely believed to be ripe for the Eagles after some of them masterminded a seventh AYC title for Nigeria last month.
And the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have charged Keshi to ensure a seamless transition of players in the U20 to the Super Eagles upon signing a fresh two-year contract.
Keshi has now stated that the players would have to fight for shirts and show conviction that they are matured to handle the pressure in the National team.
“I don’t have a problem inviting the players. They are good lads. Myself and the likes of Henry Nwosu also got into the national team at age 17,” he said.
“But it’s not about inviting them, they must be ready for the challenge of being in the national team because this is the height of it in the national teams.”
