Jurgen Klopp got his Liverpool managerial career to a decent start after he led the Reds to a 0-0 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
The much anticipated game which had Liverpool miss the attacking trio of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Daniel Sturridge, due to injury, had Spurs failing to take advantage of the Reds’ inadequate firepower upfront.
In the 11th minute, Spurs made an early change after Nacer Chadli came off injured for Clinton Njie.
Then in the 82nd minute, Liverpool made their first substitution when Joe Allen replaced Adam Lallana.
And as the game dragged to its end, both teams made their second changes with three minutes remaining. Jordon Ibe came in for Philippe Coutinho while Erik Lamela went off for Andros Townsend.
The draw will serve as an encouraging result for Klopp who will now hope to secure his first victory at home to Southampton.
