Former Olympic and Commonwealth Games boxing gold medalist, Tony Konyegwachie has revealed that Team Nigeria's boxing four gold medal win, Saturday night, at the ongoing 11th All Africa Game is a product of hard work.
The Nigerian boxing coach spoke to Completesportsnigeria.com after his team won four gold and two silver medals inside the Talangai Sports Complex boxing ring on the final day of boxing event of the 11th All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville.
"Four gold medals and two silver is not a bad result, but I believe we should have won more," Konyegwachie said, much like the proverbial Oliver Twist.
"We worked real hard before coming for this All Africa Games. We have good boxers in the team, both male and female.
"I had confidence in their abilities to deliver but then, I give them kudos because they did well.
"What we can take home from here is that, like I said earlier, if you work hard success is bound to come your way.
"I'm grateful to God for His mercies while hoping we would work harder because the Olympic Games is coming so soon in Brazil next summer," Konyegwachie, a retired boxer said.
