Former Nigeria international Garba Lawal has stated that the home-based Eagles win against Niger Republic didn't surprise him.
The Home Eagles kicked off their campaign at the 2016 African Nations Championship with a 4-1 win against Niger in Group C on Monday.
In a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com, Lawal praised man-of-the-match, Chisom Chikatara, for his hat-trick.
"I saw it coming (Nigeria beating Niger Republic). And for Chikatara to score three goals, that was fantastic," Lawal told Completesportsnigeria.com.
He urged the players not to relent ahead of their game against Tunisia, urging them to remain disciplined.
"They shouldn't relax because this is a competition, and you never know. They have to take every game as a cup final.
And if we hope to beat Tunisia, we have to play with discipline, play as a team which is very important. And I believe if we play as a team, the game will be easy for us against Tunisia," he enthused.
