Leicester City continued their fantastic run in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday as they defeated Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park to consolidate their place on top of the Premier League table.
Two goals by Riyad Mahrez and one from Shinji Okazaki helped the Foxes claim victory against the home side.
Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas were on target for Everton in a game that lived up to expectations in the second half.
The first half ended 1-1. Riyad Mahrez scored his 12th goal of the season when he stepped up to convert from the penalty after Everton’s Ramiro Mori pulled his team-mate by the jersey in the 27th minute.
Lukaku however equalised for the Toffees five minutes later being at the right place and at the right time to pounce on the rebound inside the box to fire the ball home.
There were no breathtaking situations in the first half though the scoreline was a reflection of the form of the star men on both sides.
Mahrez scored his second goal of the game via a penalty in the 65th minute after Tim Howard fouled Jamie Vardy.
The USA keeper was yellow-carded. Vardy himself scored four minutes later but Kevin Mirallas reduced the margin in the 90th minute after he had missed a chance earlier.
