Liverpool Into COC Final After Shootout Win Over Stoke

Liverpool have qualified for the final of the Capital One Cup final after defeating Stoke City 6-5 in a penalty shootout.

Stoke City levelled the tie 1-1 on aggregate after Marko Arnautovic scored in the 45th minute.

After both sides failed to find the winner, the game went into penalties.

In the shootout, Stoke City’s Marc Muniesa’s kick was saved by Simon Mignolet.

Substitute, Joe Allen converted his kick, to send Liverpool to the final.

They will now meet the winner between Manchester City and Everton in next month’s final in Wembley.

Liverpool won the 2012 edition of the League Cup, beating Cardiff City 3-2 on penalties after 120 minutes of football ended 2-2.
