The League Management Company has sent a letter to the office of the Taraba State Governor protesting the reported manhandling of FC Taraba players by some soldiers attached to the state government house in Jalingo, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The players Completesportsnigeria.com can report were at the government house on Friday to press their demand for the payment of arrears of eleven months salary by the management of the club.
Soldiers on duty at the government house were said to have assaulted the players who had barricaded the entrance to the government house.
The LMC consider the action of the soldiers unacceptable in its totality.
The league body therefore notified the government that the club will be sanctioned should the management fail to provide evidence to prove that the players have received their entitlements.
Some of the sanctions include withholding all funds due to the club from the LMC and using it to pay the players, placing a transfer ban on the club until they have paid all outstanding debts due to the current players and seizure of all the revenues to be generated by FC Taraba from transfer of players as such revenue would be used to offset any outstanding debts due to the current players.
The LMC also reminded the club that it may not be allowed to register as a club next season in any of the Nigeria Football Federation leagues until they have paid the players and or would start next season with a six points deduction.Watch The Premier League Live!! with EXPRESSVPN the #1 Trusted Name in VPN
