The League Management Company have fined Glo Premier League champions Enyimba N2.5m for field encroachment and the disruption of trophy presentation by their supporters, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The supporters have also been seriously reprimanded by the league body for their behaviour in Aba at the end of match day 37 fixture against Warri Wolves and at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos after last Sunday's week 38 game against Sunshine Stars.
Thousands of fans thronged the pitch while the LMC leadership and dignitaries were presenting the trophy to the club, causing a disruption in the schedule of the planned presentation ceremonies.
Last season, Kano Pillars were fined N2m by the LMC after their supporters invaded the pitch and disrupted the trophy presentation at the Enyimba International Stadium.
The LMC plan to avoid disruptive acts that deny sponsors and other stakeholders the marketing benefits and beauty of such well planned ceremonies.
They also plan to work with security agencies to improve operations during future events, while fans and unauthorised persons who encroach on the field after games and during ceremonies will be apprehended and handed over to the police.
