The League Management Company is now contemplating shifting the kick-off date of the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League season by a week, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The LMC had scheduled the new season to start on the February 21, but Completesportsnigeria.com learnt they may now be forced to push it further by one week due to the faillure of Globacom to renew their title sponsorship deal and the late registration of players by the 20 clubs in the league.
Completesportsnigeria.com scooped that another telecommunication company and a bank have also indicated interest in replacing Globacom.
The LMC on Thursday issued a new logo for the NPFL, with no sponsor's name included (pictured above).
Enyimba won a record seventh title last season ending Kano Pillars three years dominance.
Newly promoted side Ikorodu United will host Abia Warriors in the opening game of the season.
