Super Eagles assistant coach Jean-Francois has revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com that the Home Eagles players who picked up injuries in the friendlies against South Africa Premier League side, Amatuks, and the Angolan national team are undergoing rehabilitation and have until the end of Thursday's training to prove their fitness.
Loscuito however admitted that the trio of Tunde Adeniji, Chisom Chikatara and Paul Onobi are on the mend.
"The injured players are in rehabilitation. We will see after training today (Thursday) if they can re-enter the group, but we are optimistic they will be fine, no problem.
"We want to thank the fans who have expressed concerns over the fitness levels of the players but the friendlies are important before such major competitions," the former ASFA Yenaga of Burkina Faso coach told Completesportsnigeria.com Thursday morning.
Tunde Adeniji suffered a muscular strain injury in the team's friendly against the PSL side while Chikatara hobbled off with a hamstring injury in the same game.
On the absence of Lobi Stars defender Samson Gbadebo who is yet to join the Eagles in South Africa due to visa hitches, Loscuito said that the defender was still expected to join the team.
"We are still expecting Samson (Gbadebo) in camp. Its unfortunate he couldn't join us when we left, but he's part of the team anyway.
"His not being here earlier does not mean he is out. Hopefully, he will make it latest sometime next week," Loscuito enthused.
The home-based Eagles will conclude their pre-CHAN tune-up friendlies with a game against Cote d' Ivoire on Monday before jetting off to Rwanda.Jiji.ng the cheapest online shopping in Nigeria
