Super Eagles assistant coach Jean- Francois Loscuito has assured Nigerians of a better home-based Super Eagles team whose experience at the 2016 African Nations Championship will only serve to improve the team.
Prior to the championship in Rwanda, Nigeria were one of the favourites for the title but crashed out in the group stages after a win, a draw and a defeat against Niger, Tunisia and Guinea respectively.
Loscuito while speaking with Completesportsnigeria.com however considers the misadventure in Rwanda as a wake-up call and opines that the target of the team is to win the next edition in Kenya.
“I think we are all very sad about our elimination but you should know that the players were very tired psychologically,” the Belgian told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“I will not dwell too much on this issue but when you see our preparations before this year’s African Nations Championship and our first two games at CHAN we can all say that we had a very high level.
“I think our league is very good because when you compete against Tunisia who arguably have the best league in Africa you appreciate the quality of players in the Nigerian league. Going forward, our objective is to have a great team capable of winning the next edition. This is our promise to Nigerians.”
Loscuito then pleaded with the League Management Company to put structures in place that will improve the standard of the Nigerian league.
Speaking on Sunday’s CHAN final between DR Congo and Mali at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Loscuito maintains that both sides have equal chances of claiming the title.
“Regarding Sunday’s final between Congo and Mali, I really do not know who are the favourites because both teams play different brands of football. Either teams can win this.
“The DR Congo team are a very technical side while Mali are rather physical and they work better as a whole team than Congo. I think it will be a great final and there will be plenty of suspense,” Loscuito told Completesportsnigeria.com.
DR Congo will be gunning for their second title at the Championship after defeating Ghana to win the maiden edition in 2009 when Cote d’Ivoire hosted.REVERSE ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION Within 3Days And Make Her Happy Again!! Guaranteed!!! All NATURAL! No Side-Effects! Click Here!now.
