Ogenyi Onazi’s representative Ayodele Makinwa has debunked rumours that his client is angling for a move away from Serie A side Lazio.
Former Super Eagles striker Makinwa told Radiosei that Onazi is happy at the Rome-based club but desires more time on the pitch to prove himself.
The Nigeria international has yet to feature in the first three Serie A games this season for the Biancocelesti, but did take part in their brief Champions League campaign and is reportedly happy to remain at the club and fight for his place.
“For now, Onazi will not be moving,” Makinwa stated.
“We have spoken with Lazio and the club consider him to be an important player who has a contract until 2018.
“I can’t say that he is entirely satisfied, he would like to be playing more frequently like everyone, but that is normal.”
Onazi joined Lazio after impressing at the 2009 U-17 World Cup and made his debut for the side in 2012, going on to make 91 appearances for the capital club.
After the Brazil 2014 World Cup, the midfielder was linked to the English Premier League where he was reportedly wanted by Liverpool amongst other teams.
