Mali Hold Super Falcons 1-1 In Bamako

–in All African Games qualifier for women’s football

Nigeria’s women football national team, the Super Falcons, were forced to a 1-1 draw by their Malian counterparts in a final round, first leg qualifying match for the Women’s Football Tournament of the 11th All-Africa Games, played in Bamako on Saturday.

Midfielder Ngozi Okobi put the African champions ahead and although the Falcons created plenty of goal-scoring chances, they could not increase the tally.

Instead, a mistake by goalkeeper Ibubeleye Whyte allowed the Malians an equalizer at the Stade Modibbo Keita.

The return leg will take place at the National Stadium, Abuja on Sunday, April 5.
