SL10.ng has been told that Manchester City are locked in talks with the intermediary representing Gee-Lec Football Academy starlet, Chidera Ejike.
The Citizens have been in pursuit of the attacking midfielder since February after failing to land the signature of Tottenham Hotspur trainee Musa Yahaya the previous year.
It has emerged that Ejike’s representative, Babawo Mohammed, has flown to the United Kingdom to thrash out the final details of a preliminary contract with Manchester City officials.
The 16-year-old and his manager are hopeful that the deal will be sealed before the start of the Under 17 World Cup in October.
It would make economic sense for the English Premier League club to snap him up as soon as possible with the teenager’s transfer fee expected to rise if he’s selected to represent the Golden Eaglets in Chile.
Chidera Ejike is so highly rated that he has been dubbed the ‘next Andres Iniesta’ by his minders.
