Roberto Mancini believes anyone managing Mario Balotelli should be paid double and says the Liverpool striker is in danger of wasting his career.
Balotelli has failed to impress At Anfield since his £16 million arrival from AC Milan in August and is still awaiting his first Premier League goal for the Anfield club.
“I have no idea what the solution is, but anyone coaching him should be paid double – a Balotelli indemnity,” Mancini, the forward’s former manager, told Corriere della Sera.
“He could go the same way as [former Inter striker]Adriano. For different reasons, but the same result. My only hope is that he will wake up one morning and realise he is throwing everything away.”
“I think he is doing his best at Liverpool. It just depends on him. He is still young; he has the strength to develop.
“But he must sort out his head. Since leaving City, he has declined in every aspect of his game. I thought he would do well at Milan, but it didn’t happen.”
