Nigeria's U-23 Olympic team trio of Stanley Amuzie, Matthew Etim, Okechukwu Azubuike are set to make their debut for the Super Eagles when they face Egypt in Friday's 2017 African Nations Cup qualifier, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
The trio have been impressive in the team's two training sessions so far, thus boosting their chances of starting the crucial clash against Egypt.
While Okechukwu is poised to replace suspended Ogenyi Onazi for the encounter, it remains to be seen if interim coach Samson Siasia will be prepared to take a gamble on Amuzie at the expense of the experienced Elderson Echiejile who only trained with the team for the first time on Wednesday following his late arrival on Tuesday.
Also poised to make his debut for the main team is right-back, Matthew Etim.
"Both players are being considered for the game, but only Azubuike is certain in the middle of the pack," a close source from the technical crew revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com after the team's training Wednesday evening.
"Stanley is doing well so let's see how it goes. We have one last training to decide on Thursday,"
"Also Etim is being considered due to the shakeup in defence."
