Democratic Republic of Congo giants TP Mazembe confirmed their superiority in Africa as they defeated Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia 2-1 in the Super Cup on Saturday.
The game which was played in Lubumbashi in Demcratic Republic of Congo, was between the winners of the CAF Champions League, TP Mazembe, and winners of the CAF Confederation Cup, Etoile du Sahel.
Daniel Nii Adjei put TP Mazembe ahead in the 20th minute.
Adjei grabbed his second goal of the game in the 45th minute, to make it 2-0 in favour of TP Mazembe.
Seconds later, Iheb Msakni halved the deficit to end the first half 2-1.
Both teams went out in the second 45 minutes to add to their goals but failed to convert the chances that came their way, hence the game ending 2-1 in favour of TP Mazembe.
The win sees TP Mazembe claim their third CAF Super Cup title.
