Mazzari: Ighalo’s Goals Will Soon Come, I Believe In Him

By James Agberebi:

Watford manager Walter Mazzari has backed Nigeria striker Odion Ighalo to return to form and start scoring again.

Ighalo is yet to replicate his form of last season for Watford which saw him finish as the Hornets top scorer with 15 league goals.

The former Granada striker has scored just one English Premier League goal this season, which was in Watford's 4-2 win against West Ham.

"We have a lot of confidence in Ighalo," Mazzari told wdsport.co.uk while previewing Sunday's league clash with Middlesbrough.

"There are periods when some are more in form than others but he's a player we believe a lot in. It's just a matter of him scoring.

"What I ask from my forwards is that they just play very well. What I always say to them is make sure they are 100 per cent ready physically, that they fight for every ball and they play well defensively.

"The goals will come but the most important thing is to be 100 per cent ready physically."
