Nigeria Professional Football League side MFM FC have been fined N2m by the League Management Company for the unruly behaviour of their fans during their matchday 23 fixture against Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan last Sunday at the Agege Stadium, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Some thugs suspected to be fans of the club invaded the pitch after Shooting Stars took the lead eight minutes from time through Ebitimi Agogo.
A fine of N1m has been imposed on the club by the LMC as punishment for their fans encroaching and throwing objects into the field of play during the game.
The LMC also slammed a fine of N1m on the club's supporters for their acts in the game which were capable of bringing the game into disrepute.
MFM FC have also been ordered to play three home games behind closed doors, the last two being suspended subject to good conduct by the club supporters.
The League body also said centre referee for the game, Alaba Abiodun, will be investigated for his below-par performance in the game which raised a lot of strong concerns.
The LMC also want him to be withdrawn from NPFL matches immediately.
