Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel has revealed that he will consider his future at Chelsea in January after being left out of the Blues squad so far this season, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Mikel who is in the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge says he will keep fighting on as he trains hard to stay fit.
The 29 year old who has spent over a decade at Chelsea told journalists in a media parley in Uyo Thursday that was still stunned at his exclusion from Chelsea's first team.
"We will wait and see what happens in January," Mikel said. "For the first time in my career, this is happening to me and I have to stand up and deal with it. It is what it is but I'm training hard every day and I always wish the team the best and I am happy we are doing well.
"I've been at Chelsea a long time. Managers come and go, players come and go. I've been at Chelsea a long time and these things happen in football. So we will have to make that decision when January comes."
Meanwhile, Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr claimef Mikel's lack of playing time at Chelsea so far this season was punishment for participating at the Olympic Games in the summer.
"He is being punished for deciding to go to the Olympics for Nigeria," Rohr told journalists in Uyo.
"He is training well and doing well for us. I cannot punish him for deciding to make a sacrifice for Nigeria."Uncover how I make $750 weekly on Facebook using never been revealed Social Media tools.
