Mikel, Moses Make Chelsea Tour; Omeruo Dropped

By Johnny Edward:

Super Eagles players Mikel Obi and Victor Moses were part of the Chelsea squad that departed London on Wednesday for Canada to start their pre-season campaign.

Nigeria centre-back Kenneth Omeruo was however left out of the squad, completesportsnigeria.com can report.

Both Mikel and Moses have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge this summer with Mikel linked with Turkish side Fenerbache and two Qatari teams Al Ain and Al Wahda.

Moses on the other hand is rumoured to be heading out on loan again after a brilliant spell at Stoke City.

But being on board to Montreal with the Premier League champions for a two week pre-season training, the Nigerian internationals will be hoping to impress Jose Mourinho during the trip and earn a place in the squad for the coming season.

The Blues will face the New York Red Bulls next Wednesday in New York in their first pre-season game before a clash against PSG in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, July 25.

Mourinho’s side will then head to Washington D.C. to take on Champions League winners Barcelona on Tuesday, July 28.
