MIkel: Why Chelsea Stopped Besiktas Move

By Adeboye Amosu:

English Premier League champions, Chelsea Football Club, prevented their Nigerian midfielder, John Obi Mikel from linking up with Turkish side this summer Completesportsnigeria.com can report.

Mikel has struggled to pin down a regular shirt in the Blues starting line-up in recent seasons and has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the club.

According to Turkish newspaper Radyospor, the 2013 African Cup of Nations winner was prepared to make the switch to Besiktas but the move was blocked after Chelsea failed to agree a deal for French midfielder Paul Pogba.

Mikel was also linked with a move to the middle east and another Turkish side, Fenerbache earlier in the summer.

He has played in just one of Chelsea’s four Premier League games this season.

MIKEL HAS GOT NO PERSONAL AMBITION. ALL HE IS INTERESTED IN IS THE WEEKLY BOUNTY HE MAKES WEEKLY FROM CHELSEA. HE HAS REFUSED TO TAKE HIS DESTINY IN HIS OWN HANDS—-WHAT A PITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

SINCE SUPER EAGLES IS NO MORE A REHABILITATION GROUND, HE SHOULD COUNT HIMSELF OUT OF SUPER EAGLES IF HE IS NOT PLAYING REGULAR FOOTBALL.

It’s a real shame that Mikel has brought himself this low. How can a club be killing your career and potential;the coach is even making fun of him by saying he could captain the team in the future, and you are content to sit it out on a regular basis when your contemporary has won the World footballer award 4 times. Mikel really needs to be delivered of whatever spell he’s under, wake up from his slumber and revive his fledgling career before it becomes too late…may God help him

People should just accept that Mikel was and has being an average footballer all his career. What is exceptional about Mikel? He was able to show glimpses of a star when he was playing under-aged football but truth be told:, we all know that they are a bit older than their opponents age-wise! Mikel has always being a business man all his life, from the day he was made to deny he signed for Manchester United because Chelsea offered more money to him and his dad, to today that he’s contented getting his weekly pay while rusting on his club bench and sometimes in the stands. A better story of a talented man is the case of Yaya toure who refuses to be benched for Busquet, left Barcelona and now proving himself a star in Manchester City. That’s a man I call talented and a Star. ” Four African footballer of the year award in a row and still counting!”
